Emma might not let him pull off a dashing rescue, but Captain Hook is still pretty dashing, even when he's made of yarn. When completed, he stands just under 9 inches tall, adding a touch of Once Upon a Time goodness to your desk, your cubicle, or your personal magic portal.
To make Hook look his best, you don't need eyeliner (although it never hurts to have some nearby for your own use), but you will want to have a couple of things on hand, including both a baby weight black yarn AND a standard (worsted or DK) Black yarn. You'll also want a few extras on hand, including blue safety eyes (I used 15mm), a scrap of black felt, and several inches of wire. More or less any gauge will work. Personally, I recommend that you conjure up some fabric paint to embellish Hook's costume, but you go with beads or embroidery, if you prefer.
Required stitches are pretty straightforward, including sc, HDC, DC, and sl st. You will also need to do HDC and DC decreases (HDC2tog and DC2tog), but a phototutorial is included for you with your purchase.
