Growing up in Alaska hiking, hunting and camping with my family, we've learned to appreciate every part of living here, including the animals and what they have to offer. Caribou shed their antlers every year and each spring my husband and son go out "shed hunting." They bring home piles of nice antlers to make antler hat racks, display fixtures for my clothes, furniture, and other things. They take the left overs and cut them into beautiful buttons. They are great for sewing on quilts, clothing, table runners, pillows, and any other craft you might need a button for. They range in size from 1/2 inch to 2 inches. We try to put similar sizes and colors together on the cards. There are usually 5 buttons per card on average, if they are small we put 6, if they are very large, then we put 4.
