Item details

Here I am offering Seeds from Salvia coccinea Red, also known as Blood Sage, Scarlet Sage, and Texas Sage. This red and scarlet blossoms, on this deer resistant plant, are on display from the middle of the Summer until the middle of Fall. It likes to live in full sun to partial shade where it is very popular with the bees, birds, including hummingbirds, and butterflies. This is a larval host plant for the Painted Lady Butterfly. This is a well documented nectar source for the Orange-barred Sulphur, Monarch, Cloudless Sulphur, Giant Swallowtail, Zebra Longwing, Gulf Fritillary, Spicebush Swallowtail, and many other butterflies. This plant is grown as an annual all over, but it can be a tender perennial in USDA Hardiness Zones 7b to 10
