Starbrary Quartz Crystal with Time-Link Windows

41.93mm x 16.84mm x 21.16mm

This is a very beautiful, Starbrary Quartz crystal, from the Thomas Gonzaga Mine in Minas Gerias, Brazil. Starbrary Quartz is famous for its beautifully etched sides, and most of the crystals are perfectly clear through the center. This specimen has a companion crystal growing on the back, has two 'time-link' "windows, (diamond shape faces at the base of the termination point), and is exceptionally clear down the center. It's very lovely!

According to Wikipedia, "Quartz is the second most abundant mineral in Earth's continental crust, after Feldspar. Its crystal structure is a continuous framework of SiO4 silicon-oxygen tetrahedra with each oxygen being shared between two tetrahedra, giving an overall chemical formula of SiO2.

There are many different varieties of Quartz, several of which are semi-precious gemstones. Since antiquity, varieties of Quartz have been the most commonly used minerals in the making of jewelry and hardstone carvings, especially in Europe and the Middle East."
