Using the runic transliteration from J.R.R. Tolkien's 'The Hobbit', this pattern welcomes guests to your home with "Home Sweet Home" rendered in elder futhark. The text is finished with a knotwork border in green.
Those of you more familiar with the elder futhark will notice that the silent “e” in the word “home” has, in fact, been represented here with the character ᛖ (ehwaz). That is a nod to Tolkien’s transliteration, which included the silent “e” in its words. Because this pattern was created with Tolkien aficionados in mind, I wanted to be as faithful as possible to that style.
