The CVM-Romeldale sheep is a rare American breed with fine to medium wool that is so soft that your garments made from this wool are referred to as "next to skin" soft. CVM is shorthand for California Variegated Mutant, a Romeldale sheep with multicolored wool. Yarns made from a CVM fleece are naturally heathered and beautiful.
"Mars" is an adult gray colored ram, he is a purebred Romeldale. His rare and unusual fleece is multiple colors of medium grays and light grays with an extremely soft handle. At one year old Mars' fleece measured 20.7 microns and though he is older now his fleece remains soft and fine. This big guy wore a sheep coat all year so there is no VM, this is a very clean fleece.
This multi gray fleece reminds me of wood ashes, smokey and gorgeous.
There are no second cuts. This is a raw fleece that has not been washed.
3 - 3.5 inche staple 5 lbs. 8 oz.
**your satisfaction is most important - if for any reason this fleece does not meet your expectations it is returnable for a full refund of purchase price (less shipping costs) assuming it is returned in the same condition.

This is excellent fleece, and quite a bargain. It was heavily discounted due to a supposed weakness at the tips, but you have to look very, very closely to notice it. Many sellers would not have even mentioned this, so the fact that it was stated in the listing and accounted for in the price shows a very high standard of ethics and quality control on the part of the seller.
Either way it is so soft and fine, and since the problem area is only at the absolute tip, the yarn will be perfect. No problem whatsoever. Thank you!
