Dragon eye cabochon, glass eye cabochon, dragon's eye, lampwork cabochon, lampwork art glass cabochon, steampunk, fantasy art, SLIGHT SECOND
A 13.7 mm diameter handmade lampwork art glass cabochon designed to look like a dragon's eye in a beautiful shade of pale pastel mint green.
PLEASE NOTE: I consider this cabochon to be a slight second due to a bubble at the side, which only became apparent as I was photographing it and I have, therefore, priced it accordingly. Although the bubble is noticeable in the photographs, it's not nearly as obvious in real life. It will easily be covered by wirework, beadwork, etc. but I would not recommend this piece for setting in metal as pressure on the side whilst shaping a metal bezel may cause the bubble to pop and the cabochon to crack.
➤ Diameter: 13.7mm / 0.53 inches
➤ Depth 4.1mm / 0.16 inches
Dragon's Eye was made on a specialist cabochon mandrel and so, although the back is flat, there is a dimple in the middle - but as it's the back it won't be seen.
This cabochon is a little small for me to convert to an interchangeable popper. Those that will fit a popper backing are marked as such in their descriptions.
Please familiarise yourself with my shop policies before placing your order - thank you! https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/janehamill/policy
All of my glass pieces are made entirely by hand and are annealed in a digitally controlled kiln to ensure strength and durability. Each one is then cleaned by hand and thoroughly checked under a magnifying lens for cracks or imperfections; a final check is made at the point of packaging to ensure my valued customers will receive a perfect piece of art.
Please note that I strive to represent all my artwork accurately in my photographs and make them as representative as possible. I photograph all my work under professional lighting in order to show the colours and textures in my work to their full effect. Note that the colours may vary under different lighting conditions or when viewed as a photograph on different computer monitors.

Shipping & policies
Please note that the processing time on each listing refers to the time taken to package the order and enter it into the postal system, not the time it takes to be *delivered*. The email notification of *dispatch* you will receive when I have posted your order is not a notice of *delivery*.
The days refer to working days, which excludes weekends and public holidays.
Delivery dates cannot be guaranteed unless previously agreed before orders are placed.
It is the customer's responsibility to provide a correct shipping address during the checkout process. If the address is sent to the wrong address because the customer supplied the wrong details, the customer will not receive a refund. The customer will be given the option to pay for the postage for the item to be sent to the correct address.
Any items returned to me due to an incorrect, outdated, or insufficient address or that have not been collected by the buyer following attempted delivery, will incur new shipping charges, or will be refunded minus the original shipping charge (personalised/custom orders are not refundable/returnable). I will only ship to the address shown on the order.
UK shipping is via Royal Mail's First Class services.
International orders are sent by Royal Mail's International services. According to Royal Mail’s website, delivery to Europe is within 3 to 5 working days of posting and to the rest of the world within 5 to 7 working days of posting. However, this refers to the time for the package to arrive in the country of destination and not subsequent Customs clearance and onward transmission by local postal services, which unfortunately can take much longer (4-6 weeks in some cases).
Most international orders arrive within around 10-20 business days, however please note that we cannot obviously guarantee a delivery date and I am not responsible for delays due to Customs. Please allow extra time for your parcel to arrive around seasonal events or public/bank holidays.
The customer is responsible for paying any tax, import duties and/or customs charges that may be levied on overseas orders.
Most orders are posted the next day after ordering, where the order has been placed before 9pm UK time. Occasionally, orders may take 2 - 3 days to dispatch, based on my ability to get to a Post Office.
Payment via PayPal or Etsy Payments only.
Returns & exchanges
- Custom or personalized orders
- Perishable products (like food or flowers)
- Digital downloads
- Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
If an item is returned to me via the postal services as uncollected or undelivered, the customer will be given the choice to have the item resent at their cost or for me to keep the item and issue a refund of the original cost of the item and excluding the original postal charges.
In the event that any order is incorrect, the customer must notify me within 30 (thirty) days after delivery. I abide by the Distance Selling Regulations (DSR). If I have made a mistake or if the product is faulty or damaged, the product shall be returned to me at my cost (First Class). Please obtain proof of posting and please ensure that the goods are packaged adequately to protect against damage. I will send a replacement at my own cost or issue a full refund.
The customer has the right to return an item for any other reason, whether it's not as expected or they have simply changed their mind as long as the customer informs me of their intention within 14 days of receipt of the order. The customer agrees to pay for the postage to return the goods to me, as per the DSR, via Royal Mail First Class Tracked & Signed For (non-UK customers should use an equivalent tracked, imsured, signed-for service) with proof of postage. This cost shall not be refunded.
For items over the value of £30 (30 GBP) the items must be returned via Royal Mail Special Delivery. Non-UK customers must use a tracked, insured and signed-for service. This cost shall not be refunded.
When returning the items, please obtain proof of posting and please ensure that the goods are packaged adequately to protect against damage. Please ensure correct postage is paid - I will not pay the fee to obtain a package returned without correct postage.
Non EU customers *must* label the package on any customs forms as "returned goods", so that customs do not demand an import/VAT charge.
If a refund is due, the refund or a credit note will be processed within 14 days of receipt of the returned items, to the cost of the goods being returned and including any postage costs incurred when sending the original order.
If you fail to take reasonable care of the goods before they are returned to me and this results in damage or deterioration, I will charge you for the reduction in value. This does not cover the unsealing of packaging necessary in order for you to inspect the goods.
Refunds are not available on custom-made items.
An order will not be considered as lost and therefore no refund issued until it meets the carrier's definition of lost as per their terms and conditions of their service.

Every care is taken to clean and anneal my glass work. Please remember, though, it is still glass and should be treated as such. Whilst much of my work is bright and happy and some of the sculpted pieces are sometimes stylised and somewhat "cartoony", they are not suitable for children. I bear no responsibility for any accidents arising from inappropriate treatment and use of my glasswork.

If anything is damaged when it reaches you, contact me immediately but no later than 14 days after they reach you so I can raise a claim with the carrier.
Minor repairs to jewellery items are free of labour charge. However, if I need to use any materials during the repair, these will be charged at cost. The customer will be responsible for secure carriage in both directions.
