This is a digital file
This listing is a file for embroidery machines, not an embroidered item.
I am about to break all the Etsy seller rules and show you crappy pictures of mostly imperfect test-sews (though the design files are perfect). If you're not too afraid by now, read on.
This bear design requires three hoopings to complete. Sew him on cut-away or tear-away stabilizer and you'll have a giant applique patch when you're done.
Don't be scared; you can seriously do this. (See ** below.)
The bear comes in two hoop sizes: 6 x 10 and 5 x 7. The 6 x 10 bear finishes approximately 12" x 12". The 5 x 7 bear finishes roughly 11" x 10".
This listing is for the 6 x 10 version.
The total stitch count for all three hoopings is roughly 40,000. It will take as many (or as few) colors as you choose. All of the design elements sew separately, so that you can make this a total "patchwork" bear, if you choose.
I am selling the design in both the 6 x 10 hoop size and the 5 x 7 hoop size. Because this design takes THREE FILES, and because Etsy limits the number of files I can upload, and because so many people have problems unzipping files after they download them, I am uploading them ONLY in PES format and listing each size separately. However, if you buy EITHER of the sizes, I will email you the other size for free (you'll have to send me a conversation giving me your email address).
Also, if you need some other format besides PES, please let me know, and I will email it to you.
The written instructions will walk you through the sewing and the assembly, step by step.
The red bear above is the 5 x 7 size. I screwed up and didn't smooth down his silver heart fabric, and it bunched up.
The pink bear is virtually perfect, except that I should have used a lining with the inner heart fabric so the houndstooth wouldn't show through.
The words on the gray bear are off-center (and different from this listing) and his right hand is deformed because I scooted my machine too close to the wall and the hoop couldn't move properly. (You wouldn't believe how long it took me to figure out the cause of these problems.) He is done on burlap and would've been so cute cut out too large and frayed.
The brown bear with pink details is actually perfect, because it was test-sewn by a friend who doesn't do the idiotic stuff that I do.
The final picture with two bears is just to show you the difference between the two sizes.
Happy sewing! If you have any problems either with the downloading or the sewing, don't hesitate to message me.
** This design is meant to make a giant applique patch. Because it is sewn in three hoopings and assembled in stages, I do not recommend attempting to sew thedesign on one large piece of fabric (such as a quilt block or flag) until AFTER the design has fully sewn.
