Item details

Red Wigglers are a small but mighty worm. Known for their impeccable composting skills, the red wiggler tops the charts as the #1 used composting worm in the states. At 1,000 worms per pound, they tear through about half of their body weight each day in food scraps, dead leaves, and other biodegradable material making them a great start to your compost bin, worm farm, or garden.

Both worms create vermicompost. Vermicompost is the world's greatest natural fertilizer! (See vermicompost post for more information on our store or check out our website at jerseyworms.com for more information.)

I sell on etsy, so I got to question why worms are being sold on here. But then again these are an artisanal item, I guess. All joking aside, the worms came in a cloth bag, that they were eating there way out of that was sent inside a shipping box. I mention this because I think it is there for them to eat, I think. I threw the bag in my new bin after emptying out most of the worms (i assume they will eat the bag eventually just like everything else), there were plenty of worms all healthy and alive, from what I can tell they are populating the area. And though I am still not sure what is coffee grounds and what is poop, I think they are pooping plenty and I hope to have some great compost soon. The worms were shipped relatively quick as well. I would definitely recommend this seller and their worms.
