These fantastically vintage "Precision-Made" CAL-TEP Pinking Shears were Made in the USA by WLW Grinding & Mfg. Co. Inc, Chicago, Illinois. They are in their original box which is stamped inside "Jul 7 1948".
I'm not a sewer (except repairs and small hand sewing) so I can't attest properly to their condition so please e-mail me if you have any questions.
The all metal shears move but are a bit stiff. The blades have a screw to adjust tension. All the teeth are present. Some black paint is missing off the handles. They need a cleaning, oiling and sharpening but should then function really well after that. This is what I love so much about well-made vintage items - you only had to buy an item once and then maintain it with a bit of care.
The box is solid, though very banged up, and missing some of the graphic but still adequate for storage.
Disclaimer: Most of my items are vintage. Please be aware that vintage items will vary with the manufacturing methods available at the time of their production. They are not made at the current standards of manufacturing. In my opinion, in most cases, however, that is a plus! They are generally an exceedingly higher quality than today's manufactured items, last much longer and have more attention to detail. However, items do also deteriorate with age and it is up to the customer to decide how they will use each product.
