*Although there are 2 available, the list price is for 1 slide bolt.
Heavy-duty, vintage, spring-loaded, door stopper salvaged from Northern New York. It was made by, "Stanley Works," of New Britain, CT sometime around the middle of the previous century. Both the bolt and casing are made of solid steel. Originally, the casing was painted black by the manufacturer, but not much paint remains which gives it a nice, distressed look.
Once the plunger is lifted, and locked in it's waiting/inactive position, it could be released by lifting the lever on casing. Upon release the plunger will extend rapidly, which means the spring is still strong and in great condition. The plunger drops down 1" from its rest position once released.
At the point of salvage, the pieces were dirty and rusty (see last photo). Since then, we've cleaned and polished both to the best of our ability. There are still spots of rust, but that just enhances their distressed look.
Each stopper has minor nicks and light scratches here and there, which are normal for old, door hardware, but no breaks, cracks, chips, gouges, or deep scratches. The springs are very strong, and operate like new--you'll be surprised!
