Malachite is a bright green gemstone that forms when carbonated water and limestone combine with copper. Malachite is the indicator that copper is present by it bright green color.
Malachite is a soft stone that once polished and cut, can be used for ornaments and jewelry. It was even used for the construction of columns for St. Isaac's Cathedral in St. Petersburg, Russia. Most commonly mined in Africa.
These tiny genuine, natural malachite round beads (a stone that is often another stone dyed and passed off as the real thing) are a lovely dark green with tiny swirls of a lighter shade of green.
