Item details

These solid raw brass crucifixes come 3 to a package. Order by package.

Natural Raw Brass is not plated nor finished with any lacquer or metal coating. It can easily be polished like sterling silver. I only recommend Collinite Metal Wax and a soft microfiber polishing cloth to keep the brilliance of these pieces. Natural low brass darkens to a warm gold with age. A very desirable patina that adds warmth to any rosary or beading project.

Size: 1-1/4" x 2-1/4"

*There may be a slight showing of silver color where the corpus is attached (soldered) to the cross by the brazing technique, i.e. a hand method used to solder brass to brass. In this process an additional metal must be used in order for brass to adhere directly to brass. In no way does this harm or mar the finish or quality as it is done by hand and adds to the natural character of a partially hand finished piece.

FAQs

As these parts are manufactured for professionals, some specifics are necessary for the care and cleaning of raw brass that you may find helpful if you are not familiar with rosary and jewelry making. To remove unwanted patina, Collinite No 850 is what I recommend. I have found it works with very little effort. To protect and or seal your brass, I recommend to permanently lacquer your pieces with commercial grade invisible clear coat finish...Protectaclear® by Everbrite. It is non toxic and even used in the food and beverage industry https://www.everbritecoatings.com/ProtectaClear.htm

For touching up firescale, fire stain or sterling solder: After polishing the piece, I recommend the Prismacolor® brand paint pen in Metallic Gold with Fine Point nib. You can either dab the pen on a non porous surface and use a fine brush to apply or apply directly from the pen nib. Finish with a top coat of Protectaclear® by Everbrite https://www.everbritecoatings.com/ProtectaClear.htm

I can help you purchase in bulk at near wholesale rate. There is a 200 piece minimum that must be purchased at least in batches of 50. You can select up to 4 different styles - 50 of each - and have the 200 minimum needed all together. The manufacturer will normally run over 50 pieces usually around 52-54, so you will be expected to pay for the extras that are run as you will be billed. Sometimes there are defective pieces in the run. You will be responsible for those too. It's a part of the business and goes hand in hand with manufacturing and the cost that sometimes come with it. If you would like a price quote, please contact me.
