Item details

This tutorial contains instructions for all the jewellery shown in the photos.

Beading level: suitable for beginners. It is explained in great detail and is very easy to follow.

27 pages. 35 clear computer-drawn diagrams. 12 photos of finished work.

You will need 6mm round beads, 4mm bicones, sizes 8 and 11 seed beads, an optional crystal teardrop or other large bead (one for the necklace or pendant, two for earrings), and a beading needle and thread. Plus you will need a necklace or bracelet clasp, earring hooks, and jump rings, with two pairs of pliers to attach them with.

The pattern is embellished right angle weave which changes direction in the centre to form a V-shaped necklace. Zoom in on the first picture to see three more necklace versions. The third picture shows close ups of the main sections of the pattern, which you can embellish with bicones on the top to form a little flower shape, or along the edges, or both. You could also use 4mm round beads in place of the bicones as shown in the fifth photo. The necklace can be made with or without any embellishment, and with or without a crystal teardrop at the centre front. Also there are three pairs of matching earrings and guidance for how to make matching hair accessories. I like you to get your money's worth! :-)

You may also like this bracelet pattern which is made completely of beads including the clasp.

Additional policies

Why do patterns seem so expensive?

I used to think the same thing, actually. They seem so expensive. Why is it so much? Why would someone pay £5 or £8 or even more for a pattern, however unique the design, when they could buy an entire book for under £20?

Part of the price may be VAT. As it's an instant download, if you're in the EU or certain other locations you'll automatically be charged an extra 20% (or similar depending on the VAT rate of your country) on top of my pattern price. I genuinely am sorry about that. I don't get that money, in case you were wondering.

You're not just paying for the pattern, though. You're paying for direct contact with the designer who will help you with any steps you have trouble with. After you've bought a pattern from me you'll get my personal email address and I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about the pattern via email to that address or via Etsy message.

The pattern is explained in far greater detail than the patterns you'll find in most books. I draw masses of diagrams for each pattern to show you exactly what to do, so you can't go wrong. And if I ever find I've made a mistake in one of them, I'll correct it and send you a new copy.

I let you sell items you have made using my patterns. To me it's like a university saying oh we'll give you the knowledge to pass your degree but you're not allowed to use it to make a living. When you buy a pattern from me I'm happy for you to make money from items made using my design. Of course, it should go without saying that you must not give away or sell any part of my (or anyone else's) patterns, and also that you should not sell items made from other designers' patterns unless they have explicitly stated that you have permission.

And finally, you're most likely only going to end up making one or two designs from that £20 book anyway. Which means that each one has actually cost you £10. Mine aren't so dear after all! :-)
