This is a simple to assemble electronic kit that's a clone of the classic "Simon Says" game. The component count has been kept as low as possible to make it suitable for someone's first electronic project.
Full build instructions are available at https://thingsforhackers.com/post/build-instructions-copyme-84a/
The kit contains the following items:
1 * CopyMe84A PCB 1 * Atmel ATtiny84A Microcontroller (Pre-programmed) 1 * 14 pin DIP socket 1 * CR2477 Batter holder 1 * PCB mounted speaker 4 * 10mm LEDs. 1 each of red, blue, yellow & green 4 * Push button switches 4 * Switch caps. 1 each of red, blue, yellow & green 5 * 220 ohm resistors
The SW & HW are fully open source so feel free to modify and or use them to further you knowledge in these areas.
Why I designed this kit. One of the main motivations was seeing all the other great products available on Etsy. It really reminds me why I got in to electronics in the first place. I've been working in the tech industry for over 25 years, but unfortunately the products I currently work on are increasingly moving away from my passion of low level HW & SW. This product is my 1st attempt to address this ;-)
From the outset, I wanted a product that was easy to make, but still provided the budding engineer with a worth while product at the end. It's fully open source so I'm hoping people will experiment and learn from the experience.
