Mary Queen of Scots "Delphin" Tapestry

Historical Note - Mary Queen of Scots married Francois, Dauphin of France in 1558. After Francois' death in 1560, Mary returned to Scotland where she reigned for seven turbulent years. During the long years, she was imprisoned by Elizabeth I, she embroidered many animal, bird, and fish designs. This tapestry is adapted from the "Delphin," a pun on the word Dauphin, believed to have been worked by Mary.
