Royston Ribbon Turquoise Cabochons; Bead Embroidery, Wire Wrapping, Silversmithing, Collection
Honestly, I don't know exactly what material this is. It appears to be a mauve colored matrix with ribbons of chrysocolla.. or possibly turquoise, running through it. ( Though I doubt is turquoise as there is more red and brown than turquoise color in the ribbons). If anyone can identify this for me, I would appreciate it if you would "convo" me.
It is moderately hard and the ribbons of color take a higher polish than the surrounding matrix material. Very pretty though;
The larger stone is a freeform oval and measures 38 mm x 27 mm x 8.5 mm. It would make a nice focal piece in silver or even in a macrame work with natural fibers.
The smaller cab measures 30 mm x 19 mm x 7.2 mm. All surfaces are polished and the bottom edges are beveled.
Addendum: I was told by the man from whom I bought the rough that this is Royston Ribbon Turquoise.
Please "convo" me if you would like me to include a glue-on bail with your cabochon order to allow you to easily transform this cabochon into a pendant. Just attach the bail with a good epoxy and add a chain.....voila!
