As a sheep matures, the wool often times turn grey (just like us!). This is a recent fleece from Iris. She is a Corriedale/ Merino cross and a real sweety. In the photo above, she is the one in the back on the left. It's an absolutely amazing grey. The perfect color for so many things. Hair, mice, dogs and wolves, squirrels, even rocks!
This is a medium weight wool and while not scratchy, it is not what I call close to the skin soft for knitting. However, it makes wonderful yarn for mittens and outerwear. Message me if you would like a larger amount for spinning.
Comes in 1 or 2 ounce packages for felting.
I've taken great care to reproduce the correct color in all of my photos, but due to the differences in monitors, the color may be slightly different than what you see. My sheep are not confined to a barn. I have done my best to pick through the fleeces before sending to the processor, but be aware that there may still be small amounts of vegetation here and there.
