"Uncle Canard" is a model airplane that you can build from the plans in this digitally downloaded ebook. He is a model airplane that you chuck (or throw) to make him fly. He is a "canard" design and consequently looks like he's flying backwards because the big wing is at the rear of the plane and the small wing (the stabilizer) is at the nose.
This 33 page ebook is designed for beginners and takes you step by step through every task you need to complete to build your own flying model airplane. You don't need to be able to read technical plans to build this plane. You can print off each relevant page, cut out the relevant part, trace it onto a piece of balsa and cut it out with a knife. Thus, for children, adult supervision is required.
On the other hand, if you're a more experienced modeller, the dimensions of each component are provided so you can transcribe each dimension onto the balsa yourself.
The ebook describes how to do each task along with safety precautions you should take for each step.
When you fly Uncle Canard you'll find he's nice and stable and really robust (that means he is pretty strong). So if he hits a few trees or fences you'll hopefully not do too much damage. Either way, you can often repair him with a bit of glue or just cut out a new component in your left over balsa wood and replace the damaged piece.
Finally, the ebook describes how to setup Uncle Canard so he flies beautifully.
I hope you have a lot of fun building and flying Uncle Canard.
