Abundant in Mexico; this Zamia has proven to thrive in Southern California and Florida. This Sierra Madre beauty hails from Veracruz and surrounding areas. Holding stiff leaves on long stems emerging from a subterranean trunk. This Zamia has proved to be tolerant to drought and is quite hardy.
This is a great Cycad to start your collection or just to add some tropical foliage to the garden. This highly variable plant can have ovate to elongated leaflets. Seeds are fresh cleaned and ready to germinate. They respond well to typical germinating techniques. Peat moss mix in a baggy with heat. Seed trays or community pots with some warmth work too. We use Sand, perlite, and peat mix of equal parts and get good results.
