Item details

Minolta Rokkor Autopak 500 126 Auto Flash Film Camera Made in Japan 1960s

This elegant viewfinder camera was launched in 1966. It was the first of it's kind to feature an auto exposure selenium cell system that powered the flash to fire automatically in low light conditions.

The 500 has a number of other special features including -
a metal dial on the side of the camera which focuses the high quality 38mm f/2.8 Rokkor lens
an automatic rotating flash cube socket on the top of the camera
a rectangular black shutter button on the top
a metal film advance lever on the back
a clip on hand strap
a spring release film chamber door

The camera takes a 126 film cassette and two AAA size batteries which are inserted in the base.
It is marked "Minolta Autopak 500", "Minolta Rokkor 1:2.8 f = 38mm" "JC11 Passed JMCD", "Minolta Camera Co., Ltd. Japan 154697"
The battery slide is marked "One Base Up One Base Down use AAA Batteries Open".

The camera body is molded plastic and metal. It is in excellent vintage condition. All parts appear to be working well. This camera has not been film tested and so we are selling "as is" with no refund.
