*UPDATE: NOW OUR 3D PRINTED NES CASE COMES WITH SILICONE PADS TO PREVENT YOUR CASE FROM MOVING AROUND WHILE YOU ARE PLAYING YOUR RETROPIE GAMES. WE ALSO HAVE A NEW UPGRADED CASE THAT INCLUDES A 3MM LED LIGHT WITH CURRENT LIMITING RESISTOR, AND AN ULTRA QUIET 30MM FAN TO KEEP THE RASPBERRY PI COOL.
This item is a 3D printed NES-inspired case for Raspberry Pi B+, Pi 2, or Pi 3.
The case is made with 3 different colors of ABS (Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene), one of the best materials for 3D printing with structural integrity and high definition.
It comes in 2 parts: top and bottom. The Raspberry Pi should be placed on the bottom part and screwed to place (screws included) from the bottom to the top. These same screws will secure the bottom and top parts in place. 4 silicone pads are attached to the bottom part.
The case has custom cut holes on the side to give easy access for power, HDMI and audio/video as well as access to the micro SD card. You can choose between our new upgraded version, which includes an ultra quiet 30mm fan to keep your Raspberry Pi cool, and a 3mm LED light with current limiting resistor (that makes your mini NES look even more like the original one!), or our basic version that you can customize yourself. Both the fan and the LED light come with pre-crimped 0.1" female headers, making their connection easy, just plug and play.
Give Retropie an awesome look, or just have you rPi protected with one of the most iconic video game consoles of all times!
The case was falsely advertised. I was surprised to find many scratches and deep grooves both on the top and bottom of the case. It was discolored on the bottom of the case, and seller admitted holes were manually widened with an xacto knife before shipping, rather than altering the design or using a more precise method. Seller claimed "those aren't cuts, that's a normal result from our printer"
The case took 5 days before they shipped and when I asked why, the seller called me "very hostile" and told me it took 5 days because they thoroughly clean and remove any imperfections before shipping.
After asking for a refund, seller argued for days before finally allowing a return and wanted me to pay return shipping even though item was clearly defective.
Overall the worst experience I have had on Etsy, BUYER BEWARE.
