Mixed Graduated Teal Blue Faded Ancient Glass Excavated Medium Nila Beads, Mali, W. Africa (AT0629)

This group is a little more worn with age. Strands measure approximately 25" each. Bead sizes range from 6-11mm in diameter depending on strand, so please let me know what size beads you prefer.

The colors of the beads in these strands come out when treated with a tiny bit of olive oil (rub a little on your hands and then handle the beads). It brings out all their blues and greens!

Also referred to as Dardig beads.

Made along the river Niger. Excavated in Mali.

600-1000 years old.

The beads in the photos are representative of available strands - your strand will look very similar.

Average review
I am so happy that I was able to purchase a strand of these beads while they were still available. I have had a variety of "ancient glass" beads over the years; these are by far the truest example. I may use a few in designs here and there, but I think the vast majority will stay with me. I love them. You cannot go wrong with the RitaOkrentCollection. Thank you!
