Item details

This listing is for a Pentax ZX-M camera body and Pentax 35-80mm f/4 zoom lens.

This is assumed working, but I have not tested it. Turns on and fires/advances/rewinds when batteries are inserted. Batteries are not included in the listing; requires 2 CR2. Great shape inside and out, lens moves smoothly and is clean. Zoom focal length is the best of both worlds: a little wide, to a little close.

The ZX-M is a lightweight in-hand, but not in the lab. Arriving in the wake of the legendary K1000, it is a worthy successor. All-manual controls (read: no autofocus). Makes great images.

All my listings are sold as-is, with no guarantees or warranty made as to their continued functionality. I can't promise anything will work forever.

FAQs

All vintage items in my shop are sold "as-is" and I cannot guarantee their indefinite functionality. They have all led other lives before they came to me and I frequently do not know their history. I can make my best guess in some cases based on item condition and mechanical operation. I am not able to test all items, specifically cameras, due to unavailability or prices for film. When an item has been tested, I will include that information in the listing. Once an item reaches the buyer, it is the buyer's responsibility to educate themselves on proper use to avoid damage, and I am not responsible for functional failure of items. These are vintage pieces and mechanical failure happens with time; buyers should understand this risk.

Yes! I have a large collection of both cameras and photographic equipment from many eras. Etsy is not my primary gig, and there are many things I simply don't have time to photograph and list. I do not mind at all if you're looking for something specific and want to reach out. I'm more than happy to look through my collection if it might help you find what you need.

Maybe. I am able to test some items; when an item has been tested, that information is included with the listing. If you would like a particular item tested, or tested in a specific way, you need to convo me. The inquiry is welcome; sometimes I can help, sometimes not. Most items are checked out for basic mechanical functionality (i.e. does the shutter work? at all speeds? aperture? film take up? etc). Regardless: no one can guarantee perpetual functionality of photographic equipment. Even if I used it yesterday, today could be the day it breaks down. Mechanical failure is an unavoidable consequence of time. Please convo me directly if you have such concerns, and we can be sure we understand each other before any transaction occurs.

Some films are still readily available, such as 35mm. The Impossible Project is bringing back some of the older Polaroid instant formats, at a price. Cartridge films, such as 110 (actively available on Lomography.com) and APS (discontinued) may be available, sometimes expired, sometimes not. Fuji's FPC peel-apart instant film was discontinued in late 2016, but may still be available in limited stock here and there. Ebay and "yard sale" finds might be worth a shot- expired film can have interesting qualities; but, it's a bit of a gamble because you never know how bad it may be. If you do get film: keep it in the fridge. This will help it stay at least as fresh as it was when you got it, though it won't bring it back to life.

Yes. And I would happily create a custom listing for you for prints of any of my work, or services listed on my website. http://juliarowinski.com Please convo me to discuss details.

In the beginning, I tried to structure my international shipping so as to make it as simple and affordable as possible. Now that I have had more orders and learned many things, I have come to accept that this is simply not possible to do practically. I absolutely WILL ship an item internationally! However, you must convo me before purchasing so that we can work out a fair price that covers shipping to your country. My items vary widely in size, shape, and weight, as do shipping rates around the globe. I will never mark up international shipping costs to make a profit on the shipping, but I must ask for your understanding in needing to share the cost to send something to another part of the world.
