We provide carrier calculated shipping rates for all our orders. On occasion, the carrier calculated shipping does overcharge. If shipping costs are charged at more than $2 over the actual shipping cost, we will refund you the difference. If you have a question about shipping, please don't hesitate to contact us!
All orders are shipped within 1-2 business days after payment is received. It is the buyers responsibility to ensure that their mailing information is correct. Any order that is shipped to an incorrect address will be handled on a case-by-case basis. In the event that the buyer provided an incorrect address, Alternative Apothecary reserves the right to withhold an additional shipment until the original is returned or an additional order is placed. In the event that Alternative Apothecary shipped to an incorrect address, a replacement order will be mailed out immediately upon notification.
For international shipping, the purchaser is responsible for all applicable custom fees and taxes associated with importing the order into their respective country.
Standard shipping is USPS First Class and generally takes 2-5 shipping days to be received, but is not guaranteed. You will receive a confirmation of shipping with a tracking number for reference. Packages that have not arrived within the 2-5 day window will not be deemed 'lost' until 15 business days after the original package was mailed (Note that USPS will not open a claim until 15 days after the package has been shown as Delivered). UPSP failure to scan packages to update tracking does not constitute a lost package until after 15 business days.

The following items can't be returned or exchanged
Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:
Custom or personalized orders
Perishable products (like food or flowers)
Intimate items (for health/hygiene reasons)
Items on sale

Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
Additional return information
Refunds are available for up to 30 days after purchase, for unused items only. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs related to the transaction. - You must contact us within 14 days of purchase to let us know the item will be returned, and the return must be received within 30 days. - Returns received after 30 days will not be refunded. - Returns are sent to a PO Box that is NOT checked daily, please allow us time to receive the item, review your order and process your refund. - Used Jewelry will not be refunded except in the rare case the item is deemed defective.
We hand inspect each item before it is mailed. In the unfortunate event that damage has occurred during shipping, we will be happy to work with you to replace the purchase.
