What can I say? This roving is just reminiscent of one of those old time paintings on Velvet - most likely of Elvis!
We took black alpaca and blended it with dyed tencel. The tencel is all kinds of bright rainbow colors. In some places it's very noticeable, in others, it's subtle. The tencel is laid in the alpaca in a sequential, gradient manner, so you will get slow changing colors as you go. As soon as I spin it, it sells, so I don't have pictures of what it looks like spun up.
We did a second batch, Velvet Elvis Sr. that was done with gray alpaca and the same gradient rainbow tencel.
The exact blend is 80% alpaca and 20% tencel. The alpacas are raised on our farm with lots of love and care, the tencel was dyed by me to get the exact firecracker colors that make this roving pop!g. The roving is packaged in a 4 oz sleeve.
