#3 Nylon Coil Zipper By the Yard.
This sale is 10 continuous yards of #3 coil BLACK zipper yardage plus 30 Silver or Nickel pulls per the picture.
#3, 3mm across the closed coil, is a lighter weight zipper than what you use on the outside of your duffle or bag. It's great for pockets or where you need your zipper to be more supple. From side to side this is about 1" across. Enough tape to hold on to while you sew!
This is also a great zipper for small bags. I've attached a few pictures of "zipper tricks" that you can do with this yardage. You can use one side of the zipper tape & put the pull on the create a loop. Or you can use 2 different colors of zipper tape & zip them together.
Pulls are 1" long & easy to put on the zipper tape from each end to meet in the middle, head to head.
I carry 91 colors in #3 & #5 Coil Polyester Zipper Tape. I now carry the LONG PULL or TAB in white, ivory, hot pink, red, royal blue, lime, grass green, sunflower yellow, orange, tan, black, nickel, brass & antique brass in both the #3 & #5.
Instructions for putting the pull on: YouTube.com/user/TheZipperLady or TheZipperLady.com. Am working this weekend to do a little video on simple techniques to put zippers into bags...... I watch utube videos & am surprised at how hard other instructors make zippers! THEY ARE EASY! And the really cool part? If you make a mistake, you just rip them out & start again!
I'm only a phone call, text or email away. Please contact me if you have questions about what to order for your project or you would like me to set up a sale directly for you.
Please note: I am going to be at numerous shows this year across the country. I'll be posting a list shortly on my website. Come see me!

There are 2 basic types of zipper: toothed & coil.
Size numbers go up by size of tooth or coil: #3 is 3mm across, #5 is 5mm across.
Strength some-what relates to size or #3 is not as strong as #5. But coil is ALWAYS stronger than toothed in the same size. Why? Think about the area that is engaged between the 2 sides of the zipper. Then think about material of the tooth.
Sport zippers are plastic teeth that warp with use & heat. Known as Vislon. Usually #5 size.
Metal zippers are no longer made with brass but some combination of base metals.....who knows if they will hold up! Jean zips are #5. Come as #5, #7, #8, #9, #12 (Carharts overalls)
My zippers are nylon coil with polyester tape. Sizes available: #3, #5, #10
The test for strength is pulling 1" of tape apart & figuring out how much pressure that 1" will take before the coil pops. So #3 coil pops at 150 psi or pounds per square inch. #5 pops at around 200 psi. #10 at 178psi.
Then there are INVISIBLE ZIPPERS. They are coil zippers but the coils are rolled to the back so that you can't see the bump. I stock INVISIBLE ZIPPERS as cut, closed bottom zippers in 10", 20", 26", 30", 36" & 100" or as yardage. Available in #2, #4 & #6.
For all of you making wedding dresses, I am working on invisible zippers on knitted tape in the size #6 (the 50 lbs. of potatoes in a 5 lb. bag thing). PS- #6 invisibles are used to zip the seat covers on Hummers.....just don't tell the bride!
