Rustic Hickory Nut Collection, Woodland Craft Material, Assemblage Material
“Well, let me tell ya. Those hickory nuts hurt a bit more than acorns when the squirrels throw 'em at you. Where’s my gun!” Gramma Kakie
Don’t worry, Gramma Kakie isn’t a very good shot, so no squirrels were harmed. And there are still plenty of hickory nuts and acorns for the frisky little critters. This listing is for a collection of about 20 hickory, hulls and pieces as shown in the photos. Some of the nuts have been enjoyed by the squirrels and the empty shell is left. There are entire green nuts with their outer hulls; pieces of the mature, broken hull; and some that are full nut, half hull.
Although hickory nuts are edible, these are not edible quality and are for decorative use. Some of the nuts are cracked and some of the hulls are knawed, but they look good in rustic décor! There are two partial hulls that would make great feet for an assemblage creature of some sort. The basket in photo 1 is not included, but shows some of what you can do with the nuts and other botanicals. They are also wonderful in table scatter for a rustic woodland wedding or party.
