Pin Loom Weaving Leaf Scarf Pattern
by Marcella Edmund
The leaf scarf is created from squares woven on the pin loom; the weft is selectively pulled to make the shapes. Hand embroidery completes the leaf with veins and stem.
Skills: pin loom weaving, sewing, embroidery
Equipment: 4” pin loom, 6” weaving needle, yarn needle, scissors, steam iron
Materials: 200 yards variegated sock or lace weight wool yarn;
contrast yarn for stem embroidery.
Note about the materials: for the distorted weft to lie flat, wool is the best choice. The steam iron coaxes the wool to reform the weave, in an amazing way. Synthetics cannot be pressed.
