This is an unfortunately very worn, but extremly cool, little bit of history. The case has been handled a great deal, and both the blade and one rivet are missing. There is a design of a tower (possible the famous telegraph tower, although it doesn't look much like the photos) on one side and an image of the Palace of Machinery on the other with the words 'Palace of Machinery World's Fair St. Louis 1904'. This came in a mixed lot from Southwestern Pennsylvania (see our listing for the turn of the century high school pin), and we don't know it's story, but it's got to be a good one. It's seen heavy usage, and even after it was broken, it was important enough to someone to be kept for over a hundred years.
