Hand-carved mould made of cherry wood, pear wood or walnut wood. Each piece of wood is unique in its colour and grain, as items made with human hands will never be mechanically identical. With each piece you are buying a unique original which will be similar to the mould in the picture.
The title indicates the size of the carved impression, not the entire wooden block. The size in inches is approx 3,9*3,9
The mould can be used for prints made from dough on decorative gingerbread, ceramic clay or other mouldable materials. The mould requires impregnation with oil (e.g. olive oil) or dusting with flour before use. It is better to use oil, so that the mould will not get clogged and its details will remain beautiful and clear. The material is knocked out of the mould and baked or fired without the mould.
Maintaining a wooden mould Remove dry remnants of dough using e.g. a brush. Never use running water. Moulds should be stored in a dry, dark place and never be exposed to direct sunlight. Grease them again before the next use.
Dough for decorative gingerbread Take 2 parts of fine flour, one part of honey and powdered gingerbread spices. Heat the honey, mix a teaspoonful of spices with flour and blend it with the honey. You will get a tough dough which you then wrap in plastic or kitchen foil in an airtight manner and store in a cool place. Allow it to rest for at least one day. Roll the dough out, spread it over the mould, run a rolling pin over it and cut it off.
