Aztec Sweet Herb is a Mexican herb used since the time of the Aztecs for the following ailments: bronchitis, asthma, respiratory ailments, indigestion, liver disorders, hypertension and dysentery. The plant is naturally very sweet due to the compound hernandulcin, a compound about three times as sweet as sucrose! This herb is much sweeter than sugar but has a lot of camphor content which makes it unsuitable to be used like sugar; it is best used as a sweetener for teas. It is said that tea made from the leaves can be used as a mouthwash to fight tooth decay.
For emotional health, it is said that this plant has properties that lighten ones mood and improve clarity.
