PMC is a clay-like material that, once fired, can be hallmarked as fine silver (.999).
PMC Flex remains flexible even when dry. It is ideal for creating thin strips, coils and sculptural pieces.
Like PMC3 it has a low shrinkage rate of approx. 10 per cent, can be combined with gemstones, glass and ceramics. Use with PMC3 paste and PMC3 Syringe.
Drying: leave to air dry for a few hours or dry in a dehydrator for 20 mins.
Instructions on how to use the PMC will be included in your order, together with a voucher for 10% off a PMC Course at the North Yorkshire PMC Accredited Training Centre, based near York. Our Tutor, Helen Drye has been working with PMC since 2012 and is an accredited trainer for PMC and Art Clay.
Torch firing: heat the piece until the binder has burnt off and maintain the pale orange glow for a minimum of 2 minutes.
Mixed media firing: 600C/45 minutes
Fast firing: 700C/10 minutes (make rings 2 US sizes larger)
Firing for extra strength: 800C/30 minutes (make rings 3 US sizes larger)
PMC Flex can be soldered, pickled and enamelled like any other type of PMC.
