Packet of 20 Seeds for growing Perennial Blue Star (Amsonia tabernaemontana)

Eastern Bluestar is a 1-3 ft., erect-stemmed perennial that grows in a tidy clump. Blue star shaped flowers bloom in clusters in May, foliage remains attractive all season and in Fall turns golden yellow.

Loved by a variety of pollinators and butterflies Blue star will grow well in full sun or part shade and thrives in most any garden soil. Once established this hardy plant will tolerate drought.

Perfect plant for garden borders or as a central show piece requiring little care or maintenance. Plants may be pruned after flowering but when not will produce long narrow seed pods in the fall.

Blue Star / Amsonia tabernaemontana
Bloom Color: Pale blue
Bloom Period: May—June
Height: 1—3’
Plant: full sun, part shade

Planting instructions:
Spring planting: place entire seed packet in refrigerator for 30 to 45 days before the last Spring frost in your area. After danger of frost has passed, scatter seed mix into a raked and prepared flower bed. Press seed firmly into soil then water the area lightly but thoroughly. Most seed will emerge in several weeks, some seed may require a longer germination period.
Fall planting: Scatter seed into a raked and prepared flower bed. Press seed firmly into soil then water the area lightly but thoroughly. Seed sown in the fall will emerge in the Spring at the proper time for your region.

If all seeds do not sprout the 1st season, be patient! They will likely sprout in the next growing season

Packet of 20 ships in a small brown envelope with the name and quantity hand printed on the packet. Saving you money and helping us to share our bounty with you! Please refer back to this listing for planting instructions.
