The blade is O-1 high carbon tool steel. It is forged, ground, hardened, and sharpened then mounted in a handle turned from various species of wood reclaimed from the local dump, or tree trimmings. total length is between four and six inches.
most of the wood is split from logs. the best is used for spoon carving. The handles are made from stock that is too small for spoons.
