DIY watercolor temple activity - watercolor temple - LDS temple painting - lds wedding gift - lds anniversary gift - lds gift - salt lake
This DIY watercolor temple activity is a fun project! You create your own LDS temple painting! My watercolor temple is made with masking fluid. It's the perfect LDS wedding gift, baptism gift, or other LDS gift. Get it to paint while you listen to General Conference, or any other time of year!
Masking fluid is a liquid that will protect your paper from paint, so that when you finish painting on top of it, you can peel it off to find white preserved underneath. The outline of the temple and the words will be white, while the surrounding areas will be filled with your own paint design!
IN THIS KIT, you will find an 8x10 inch paper with my masking fluid design, a new set of watercolors (including a brush), and a 4x6 water color page to practice on!
The wording for this image is "Families are Forever" and could include your wedding year (ex: "Est. 1986") if you choose the personalized option. MESSAGE ME WHICH TEMPLE you would like to see featured. The temple in the example is the Salt Lake City, UT Temple.
*This is a Do-It-Yourself kit. I create the image of the temple with masking fluid. Then I'll send it to you with a new set of watercolor paints. Once you receive the kit in the mail, you...
1- paint ON TOP OF the entire paper. Paint over the masking fluid image, making sure you cover all the paper space near the fluid. Paint it however you want! Do ombré, flowers, whatever you like! Just make sure to have paint over and surrounding all the masking fluid.
2- Let your painting dry completely
3- Once your painting is dry, you get to peel off the masking fluid! Use your finger to rub the fluid and it will come off in a sticky ball. Don't be afraid to use your fingernail to get it started
4- Frame or hang your new masterpiece! You just created a beautiful piece of art. Way to go! Be proud of yourself and go show your friends. Tag us on instagram (@anastasia.artistry) for a potential repost!
IF YOU CLICKED, "Yes, personalize it" then you'll need to MESSAGE ME the date you would like featured. For example, "est. 1986" or "Stuart & Brittany" if you'd rather have your names at the bottom instead.
If you prefer the wording to be laid out differently than in my sample photos, please message me. IF I DON'T RECEIVE a message from you with your personalization and you don't respond to my inquiry within 48 hours I'll send your product without the personalization.
-Use bright or dark colors, especially around the masking fluid. Light shades are beautiful but may be hard to see once you peel the masking fluid away. If you're doing an ombré, try keeping the lighter end further away from the masking fluid
- Double check to make sure you've put paint in between all those little spaces of your o's, e's, a's, d's, g's and so on. Once you peel the masking fluid off, you won't be able to go back and fill in those spaces anymore
- I personally like to practice what watercoloring I'm going to do before I do it on the real thing. Consider using a separate piece of paper to practice your skills, then give it a go on the masking fluid page
