How Do We Make Our Ceramic Bisque?
First, we select our slipcasting molds and place them on our table. Then we carefully test and adjust our slip to be sure it's just right. We then pour the ceramic slip our molds and once partially dry, we remove the piece from the mold. Now it's called greenware. We let it dry for a few more days to be sure there is no moisture left in the piece. Once it is thoroughly dry, we carefully clean the seams and add back any detail that may have been removed during cleaning. The greenware is then fired to cone 04 in a ceramic or pottery kiln for several hours. Now it's unpainted ceramic bisque. Once it cools, we wrap the bisque to prevent it from becoming dirty on the shelf.
