This is a REX Model 64 Nail and Staple Remover designed primarily for Fencing and Construction/Farming/Agricultural Work where either Fence Posts Barn Wood or Building Lumber for Recycling/Repurposing needs, where retaining maximum amount of wood is/was critical. Whether material for building a newer/different structure or moving a fence, removal of Nails and Staples with minimum damage, by operating as a 'slide-hammer'design, the maximum force could be applied directly to the head of the Nail or shank of the staple and draw them out both rapidly and straight. This tool was created, in the Great Depression, where it would pay for itself in savings, in a few weeks of proper usage. It was such a popular tool in agricultural middle America prior, during and after the 'Dust Bowl;, that Crescent Tool Company Bought out Rex and began manufacturing this and all of Rex Tool Company's former products. Crescent Wrench and Tool Company also in Bridgeport, Ct. continued to improve on, and manufacture this tool in to the 1960's. It's reliability, durability and efficiency are legendary. To Our knowledge, REX and then Crescent manufactured this tool, in 4 different sizes for over 40 years, while 36 f those years it was a Crescent Brand Tool, the most sought after are the -REX- models because of their minimal production compared to the overwhelming majority of Crescent models still available in the secondary market.

This is not a light item and shipping via FEDEX will be $24. including insurance.
