If you're getting this as a GIFT for someone, you can either buy it to paint yourself and give away (as a piece you created for your grandma/wife/etc) or you could buy the kit for that person to complete themselves! There's lots of fun to be had with this gift idea!
Masking fluid is a liquid that will protect your paper from paint, so that when you finish painting on top of it, you can peel it off to find white preserved underneath. The words will be white, while the surrounding areas will be filled with your own paint design!
IN THIS KIT, you will find an 8x10 inch paper with my masking fluid design, a new set of watercolors (including a brush), and a 4x6 water color page to practice on!
The wording for this image is "a grandmother is nurturing, loving, generous, intuitive, and loved immensely." You can also request a personalization where you can switch any of these words out with words you choose yourself! Just click the "personalized wording" option when you check out and let me know what you want it to say!
*This is a Do-It-Yourself kit. I create the image of the words with masking fluid. Then I'll send it to you with a new set of watercolor paints. Once you receive the kit in the mail, you...
1- paint ON TOP OF the entire paper. Paint over the masking fluid image, making sure you cover all the paper space near the fluid. Paint it however you want! Do ombré, flowers, whatever you like! Just make sure to have paint over and surrounding all the masking fluid.
2- Let your painting dry completely
3- Once your painting is dry, you get to peel off the masking fluid! Use your finger to rub the fluid and it will come off in a sticky ball. Don't be afraid to use your fingernail to get it started
4- Frame or hang your new masterpiece! You just created a beautiful piece of art. Way to go! Be proud of yourself and go show your friends. Tag us on instagram (@anastasia.artistry) for a potential repost!
-Use bright or dark colors, especially around the masking fluid. Light shades are beautiful but may be hard to see once you peel the masking fluid away. If you're doing an ombré, try keeping the lighter end further away from the masking fluid
- Double check to make sure you've put paint in between all those little spaces of your o's, e's, a's, d's, g's and so on. Once you peel the masking fluid off, you won't be able to go back and fill in those spaces anymore
- I personally like to practice what watercoloring I'm going to do before I do it on the real thing. Consider using a separate piece of paper to practice your skills, then give it a go on the masking fluid page
