Chrome Diopside 7 x 5 mm Octagon Cut Russian Gem Weighs 0.90 Cts-Superb COLOR & CLARITY- AAA Gem-For Jewelry Making-Emerald Alternative
Chrome diopside is a single source gem meaning that it is ONLY found in one place on earth. It is mined in the most remote part of Siberia and is very difficult to source. The reason is because the weather conditions in Siberia limit the mining operations to only 3 months out of the entire year. The rest of the time, the mine is covered with a thick layer of permafrost and cannot be reached.
Chrome diopside is also a relatively new gemstone to the markets. It wasn't until the wall fell between the East and West that this beautiful green gemstone was shared by the Russians with the rest of the world. It is an amazing stone.
There aren't many choices for green gemstones and usually most green stones are extremely expensive, ie. emeralds, green tourmaline, etc. Chrome diopside is a 100 percent ALL NATURAL stone with absolutely no treatments whatsoever.
This particular gemstone is AAA+ quality. The clarity is near flawless (VVS-1). Even viewing the gem with a 10x jeweler's loupe there are no visible inclusions which is quite rare for chrome diopside. This means that the gemstone is "eye clean". When light strikes the gemstone, there is the most beautiful and spectacular explosions of greens with intense sparkle.
The stone measures 7 x 5 mm and weighs 0.90 carats which is a pretty good size for this gem species. Chrome diopside gets its unique green color from the element chromium. Even though it imparts the most beautiful green to the gem material, it is also a crystal growth inhibitor therefore most stones of chrome diopside are relatively small, usually averaging around one carat or less. There are larger specimens however they are ridiculously expensive and usually only found in private gemstone collections or Natural History museums.
With its superb clarity, intense color saturation, natural sparkle and cut, this stone would make a wonderful ring, pendant or other form of jewelry.
It is now the number one natural gemstone alternative to emeralds.
The only problem with AAA+ chrome diopside is that the available supply just cannot keep up with the recent demands for quality material thus driving the prices of this gemstone through the roof.

Shipping & policies
My shipping rates are a flat fee of 4.50 for the first item and 0.99 for each additional item in the same order. This covers all the costs of envelopes, packaging material, handling fees and trips to the post office. Unfortunately, the USPS has raised their rates on ALL domestic and international packages by over 35 percent as of Thursday, January 31, 2018. I sincerely apologize for the shipping rate increase but is beyond my control.
If you are an INTERNATIONAL BUYER, please contact me prior to checkout so I can look up the correct postage for your particular country. Sometimes there are issues with the customs agency of your country, so expect that there might possibly be a delay in delivery of your item. Please note, once a package leaves the United States, there is nothing I can really do to find out exactly where your package might be. If there is an issue, please use the customs number I provided with your order and contact your country's customs agency to find out when you may expect to receive your item.
Additionally, for both domestic and international orders, please understand that I cannot be held responsible for incorrectly delivered packages, stolen packages or items lost by the United States post office or your country's postal service. In these cases, I will do my best to work with you to locate your package with the tracking number provided by USPS or in international shipping cases the customs number for your package. This also includes items being returned to me for refunds or exchanges as well.
Most of my jewelry is inexpensive so insurance is not necessary however some more expensive items, ie. emeralds, ruby, tanzanite, morganite and sapphires, & some of the vintage coins must be insured. PLEASE NOTE: Insurance and tracking fees have already been calculated in the shipping costs you see posted for any items requiring insurance. All items with a value over $100 will be insured for both the buyer's and seller's protection.

Thank you for taking the time to read and understand my shop policies.
All the best!
All items purchased from my shop carry a 30 day warranty. Any item found to be damaged within 30 days of original receipt date will either be replaced (if possible) or a refund given for the full purchase price including shipping costs.
PLEASE NOTE: Items that are deemed to be damaged by improper handling or cleaning on the part of the purchaser are not covered under this warranty.
It is highly advised that you inspect your gemstone or jewelry piece very carefully immediately upon receipt because after the thirty day warranty period expires from the original receipt date, I cannot issue any refunds or exchanges for any purchase of any kind. This is in part due to the large number of attempted scams that force me to strictly adhere to this policy.
I have included some tips and pointers below to aid you in taking better care of your merchandise and specific cleaning techniques to help minimize potential damage occurring to your jewelry or gems.
Many of my gemstone jewelry items can be fragile if not protected from knocks and bumps due to their hardness scores on the Moh's scale. Care must be taken by the buyer to protect against damage especially rings as they are the type of jewelry most susceptible to damage and softer, more brittle gemstones, for example, opals and gemstones with lower Moh's numbers.
Care must also be taken when cleaning certain gemstones. Never use ANY harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaning on ANY items purchased from my shop. Using plain mild soap and warm water with an ultra soft toothbrush is the best cleaning method. This will help avoid damage to the gemstones used in creating some of my jewelry items and the gemstones themselves.
If you have any additional questions on how to take care of and protect your specific gemstone or jewelry piece, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would be more than happy to share my knowledge with you.
ENJOY YOUR PURCHASE!!!!
