Use this pattern to make a full-size felted Daffodil with leaves, or a Daffodil brooch. The
flower stands up by threading a stiff wire through the i-cord stem after it’s felted.
Use a 100% worsted weight wool or a wool blend that will felt. For the larger-size flower, our daffodil calls for 70 yards of green for the stem and leaf, 30 yards of a pale yellow for the outer petals and 12 yards of deep yellow for the center and stamen.
You’ll need size 10 double points and a stitch holder. For the stem you’ll need 18 gauge, 18” florist’s wire. You’ll also need a spare pair of long straight needles -- size 10 or smaller -- and a spare length of ribbon and a couple of safety pins for felting.
