You are looking at a vintage metal tin chocolate flat mold or stamping in the shape of a heart. Inside the heart is a decoration of leafs, vines and and grapes. Please check out the other 5 exact same ones I have without plastic wrapping in another listing.
These stampings were made from bronze dies, they were hand carved by skilled craftsmen during the 1920's and 1930's and soldered into metal frames and filled with chocolate.
I've found these at an estate sale together with a lot of other metal chocolate molds, metal flat molds and metal stampings. The flat molds or stampings collection were bought somewhere in the 50's or 60's from a company in Houston, TX called Faroy Inc. They sold flat molds from the 1920's and 1930's as souvenirs and with some they put 4 holes in the corners and added an explanatory card, four brass nails and wrapped it in plastic. I have a few like that, but the majority came without.
It is in excellent condition. Wrapped in plastic with the explanatory card and four brass nails. Plastic has a small tear on the front. One left corner of the mold is poking through the plastic. Any dark area on the front you could maybe see in some pictures is reflection from my camera.
Size: Approx. 4 1/2 inches by 4 1/4 inches. Heart 3 1/2 inches by 4 inches. It is 1/4 inch thick.
Comes from smoke free home.
Thank you for looking!
