These are pre-cut freezer paper pieces to make the Orange Blossom Quilt. Convenience, accuracy, and speed is our reason for making these. They are made of card stock, very heavy freezer paper that is reusable up to 6 or more times. They are a very helpful addition to the pattern.
Follow the pattern instructions but briefly... To use the freezer paper" 1) Iron the large and small arch to the wrong side of fabric, iron petal to the right side of fabric and roughly trim pieces with a 1/4inch seam allowance 2) On arch side of freezer paper, roll over fabric edge to freezer paper side and glue with water soluble glue (we like Elmer's Purple School Glue) 3) Repeat for each large and small arch 4) Glue baste the small arch to the Petal freezer paper piece, aligning the tips with the edges of the paper. Pic 3 5) Lift up fabric off of freezer paper and stitch in the ditch. Pic 4 6) Remove small arch and smooth, then trim seam allowance to 1/4inch. 7) Add the large arch to opposite side of petal and glue so that the thin edge go over the small arch. Pic 5 8) Lift up fabric off of freezer paper and stitch in the ditch. 9) Trim seam allowance, remove paper piece, smooth and press block. Square up to 7inch making sure there is 3/4 inch at each tip.
If you prep your fabric before sewing, you can then chain sew these blocks!
