Who doesn't love Sunbonnet Sue??? She has been around for generations! The author of this book, Susan Cleveland tells us that Sue didn't begin as a quilt block. Around the turn of the 20th century, artist Bertha L. Corbett attempted to prove to her artist friends that a faceless figure could actually display emotion. Ms. Corbett took up her pen and drew the first of many Sunbonnet Babies. They were used in books, even advertising.
Ms. Cleveland has included 9 sunbonnet characters in this book. Sunbonnets 'n' Lace, Fisherman Fred, Windblown Girl, Sunbonnet Sue's Garden, Sunbonnet Sue Lives!, Overall Sam, Rag Dolls (which are my favorite), Indian Girls and Umbrella Girl.
There is a total 48 pages and this book comes from my own quilting library. It is in good cndition.
