Knit your own piece of usable art. Ripple Purse's chunky, organic layers defy the conventional notion that felting kills texture. And the knitting is unconventional, too. The layers are made using short row shaping and the tuck technique. The ring handles are knit on before felting. All techniques are explained with clear instructions and photos. The Ripple purse shown is 10.5" long by 9" high.
Yarn Requirements: Yarn All four colors in this design are a 100% wool, worsted weight (3.5 ounces /
220 yards) yarn. You'll need approximately 250 yards in C1 (blue) and 120 yards

yarn in Aqua, Sienna, Moss and Grass for the purse shown.
Supply Requirements: One size 10 circular needle, a second circular needle (size 7 or smaller for picking up the tuck stitches), one pair of size 10 double-point needles to work i-cords around the ring handles; a yarn needle; sewing thread to match the zipper and a sewing needle. Two 5", 9-gauge brass handles (available where macrame supplies are sold), one 9" dress zipper.
