This yarn bowl was turned by me upon advice by a knitter (who lives locally…my wife). Per those in the know, a wooden yarn bowl is a necessity when knitting as it keeps the skein from rolling around on the floor and gathering “stuff” and it works to prevent tangling and knotting. This bowl is 7 ¼” in diameter, 3 ¾’ in height and weighs 1lb and 9 oz. The opening through which one would pull the yarn is a bit fancy…but works well. This wood, maple, is dense and very smooth so that the yarn ball moves around easily. It has been finished with several coats of carnauba wax and beeswax and lots of polishing. The woodburning is by yours truly and represents a love of mine. I hope you like it. Thanks for looking.
