You are looking at a vintage metal tin chocolate flat mold or stamping. This is a clown or harlequin sitting with his arms and legs spread out.
These stampings were made from bronze dies, they were hand carved by skilled craftsmen during the 1920's and 1930's and soldered into metal frames and filled with chocolate.
I've found this one at an estate sale together with a lot of other metal chocolate molds, metal flat molds and metal stampings. The flat molds or stampings collection were bought somewhere in the 50's or 60's from a company in Houston, TX called Faroy Inc. They sold flat molds from the 1920's and 1930's as souvenirs and with some they put 4 holes in the corners and added an explanatory card, four brass nails and wrapped it in plastic. I have a few like that, but the majority came without. Please see last picture. Price is for one only.
It is in very good condition. Some rust spots.
Size: Approx. 2 1/2 inches by 2 inches wide, 1/4 inches thick. Clown itself 2 inches by 1 1/2 inches wide.
I combine shipping, so if buying more than one I will refund any overpaid shipping.
Comes from smoke free home.
Thank you for looking!
