Cool, antique stove door salvaged from Northeastern Pennsylvania. The piece was salvaged from an old, wood stove. Both door and surround (frame) are made of solid, heavy, thick, cast iron. The 2 pins that hold the door onto the frame are included. The frame sat in water for a long time, but the door did not. As a result, the frame is heavily pitted (corroded) and the bottom portion broke off.
At the point of salvage, the door was covered under layers of paint (see last photo). Since then, we removed the paint and cleaned and polished the door to the best of our ability. Now, the "lndian Brand" text and logo are clearly visible, and the door looks and feels like it when it was first made.
Since the frame is so corroded and is not whole, we didn't clean it because we're not sure if you even want it. If you would like it cleaned, steel wool and detergent won't cut it. You'll need a drill and wire brush to smooth out the rough surface of the frame.
The door will make a fine addition to any collection, and it's ideal for decor or replacing your old, worn out stove door.
