*Although there are 3 available, the list price is for 1 stopper only.
Handy, vintage, spring-loaded, door stoppers made by, "Glynn-Johnson Corporation," of Chicago, IL. Each stopper is made of solid cast aluminum and is brass plated. Some of the plating wore off over the years leaving them with a nice, distressed finish. The amount of plating varies from piece to piece The base of the plunger is rubber. Included with each stopper are 3 installation screws. Unlike most other stoppers which must be pushed down completely in order to lock into place, these could lock into place after being pushed anywhere from 1/8" (minimal extension) to 1 1/4" (maximum extension). Once set in place, simply push down on the lever (tab or lid) sitting atop of the cylinder, and the plunger will shoot back into the cylinder.
We found them with a subtle patina and decided not to clean them. If you prefer your hardware bright and shiny, we could clean and polish them prior to shipping for $4/stopper--email us after the auction if you're interested.
We found them in their original boxes (see last photo). They are considered "New Old Stock," which means that they were made a long time ago, but were never used. They have a few light scuffs from being shuffled around over the years, but no breaks, cracks, chips, gouges, or deep scratches. The rubber on each holder is a bit dusty and dirty, but not worn. The springs are very strong, and operate like new.
