Item details
Bandage scissors were made of surgical stainless steel and chrome plated in Germany in 1960s.
The instrument has another name - medical Lister scissors given after the famous Joseph Lister (1827-1912) who popularized the antiseptic method that we use today.
Bandage scissors are very popular in any health care facility because they are designed to lift bandages away from skin safely and remove them very easily and fast.
The blades are angled with the bottom one being longer to go easily under the bandages. The blunt tip prevents accidental injury.
5,9'' (15 cm)
1,8 oz. (50 g)
There are two inscriptions: 'Made in Germany' on one side (photo 1) and 'Chrom' on another (photo 7).
The condition is really good: the item is clean and shiny, with some scratches on inner sides of blades. The scissors are absolutely functional. They can be used as a piece of medical decorations as well as it was intended. The blades are sharp enough to cut.
This vintage item may become a wonderful gift for doctors, nurses and medical students.
It may get its place in a medical collection as well as be used for the purpose intended.
Moreover, it may become a part of a doctor costume when you go to a masquerade.
