Bandage scissors were made of surgical stainless steel and chrome plated in Germany in 1960s.
The instrument has another name - medical Lister scissors given after the famous Joseph Lister (1827-1912) who popularized the antiseptic method that we use today.
Bandage scissors are very popular in any health care facility because they are designed to lift bandages away from skin safely and remove them very easily and fast. The blades are angled with the bottom one being longer to go easily under the bandages. The blunt tip prevents accidental injury.
